Art meets history

A project in cooperation with Jugendkunstschule (Youth Arts School) Mitte

We discover completely new aspects of your quarter. To begin, we will go out in search of traces of the past in the city equipped with a cameraphone - visiting places which are of importance and gathering many interesting photos. Afterwards we will rummage through the archive of regional history at the Mitte Museum, learning fascinating facts about the history of Berlin along the way. After we collect a sufficient number of pictures and historical information, we will get going. We will draw, paint, glue, prime, model, and create large-sized collages from a variety of materials on wooden plates - portraying Your Berlin!

Project duration:
5 days
Target group: 5th to 10th form
Place: Schul-Umwelt-Zentrum (SUZ) and the city district of Berlin-Mitte
Project manager: Museum educator Oliver Goldacker
