Discussions on the collection

6 vases and a question mark.
On the provenance of ceramic objects from the 18th century, found in the flak tower in Friedrichshain in 1945.

In the 1990s, the Mitte Museum received six ceramic vases which had once been valuable collector's items. Two come from the workshop of Cornelius Funcke, four from the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur (Royal Porcelain Factory). They were found in summer 1945 in the flak tower in Friedrichshain. The fire in the bunker irreparably destroyed their beauty and artistic value. Today, their historic significance is all the greater; particularly as the question as to which collection the pieces belonged to in 1945 remains unanswered.
The history of the ceramic objects will be discussed, and the former art collection of Berlin medical consultant Dr. Wilhelm Dosquet (1859 - 1938) examined in more detail.

and art historian Dr. Sibylle Ehringhaus
