Next to the museum building is the museum garden
- a one thousand square metre, easily accessible green haven in the middle of the city. It invites visitors to linger a while and at the same time offers the chance to learn.
At its heart is a large terrace shaded by tall trees
- a multi-functional outdoor space - the ideal setting for events, workshops or concerts.
The pavilion was recreated to commemorate Berlin’s 750th anniversary - a reminder of the "Gesundbrunnen", a mineral spring discovered in the 18th century not far from the museum.
The garden also houses our decorative insect hotel, which was constructed as part of an educational museum project and has a sustainable and positive impact on our environment. If you are keen on gardening, you can sponsor a wheelchair-accessible raised flower or herb bed.
