We regret that from January 2016 to the end of the restoration of the Mitte Museum, our archives and library are not open to oral or written enquiries. We will inform you in a timely manner as to when these offers will be available again at www.mittemuseum.de.
The special scientific library is a reference library comprising approx. 15,000 titles. The focus of the collection is on the history and present of the area of Mitte and its districts. In addition to published books, the library’s collection includes company, association and anniversary brochures, publications by the district administration, school books, exhibition catalogues and works of cultural and historic interest such as cookbooks.
This library stock is supported by a collection of regional weekly papers and a long-standing information system of monitoring press reports on the history of the district and project-related documentation.
Until now the stock was mainly accessibly in a systematic and alphabetical way by means of conventional catalogues. Presently the stock is being processed and stored digitally.
It can be accessed by appointment and according to the existing rules of use and schedule of fees.
