Pastel by Otto Nagel was stolen - 25 years ago. The Mitte Museum asks for your help!
On 12 December 1989, a pastel drawing by Otto Nagel was stolen from the exhibition rooms of the former Heimatmuseums Wedding on Pankstrasse 47.
The portrait entitled "Farmstead on Müllerstrasse" is 40.5 x 57 cm in size and was painted in 1940. It portrays the buildings of the time at Müllerstrasse 54 in Berlin-Wedding. The artist's catalogue of works shows this piece as No. 389 under the name "'Farmstead in Reinickendorf" (S. Schallenberg-Nagel / G. Schallenberg, Otto Nagel. The paintings and pastels, Berlin 1974, p. 152). The Bezirksamt (district administration office) purchased the painting at the end of the 1970s from the artist’s widow.
The Mitte Museum as the successor to the Heimatmuseum Wedding is still urgently searching for the painting. Please notify the Mitte Museum, Tel. +49 30 91603281 (Ms. Schulze; e-mail) or the Landeskriminalamt (Berlin State Office of Criminal Investigation), arts section, phone +49 30 4664-945408 of any relevant information (including confidential).
